- Strongest structural post/beam system available on the market, featuring welded corners and welded base plates
Whether you are in the market for a screen enclosure specifically engineered and designed to withstand high-velocity winds or simply do not want unnecessary framing disturbing your view, Ultra and Ultimate View structures are effective in accomplishing both tasks at the same time.
First, let us explain the differences between the two systems. An “Ultra View” structure is an enclosure that is designed and engineered without a chair-rail system and that has larger spacing between the posts than a typical enclosure. These types of enclosures are built using a much larger header beam at the top of the wall system, thicker / larger posts where needed, and are built with an upgraded screening material aptly named Ultra Screen, which is specifically designed to be stretched across large distances and that is backed by an industry-leading 10-year U/V damage warranty. On average, openings anywhere between 16’ – 36’ in width are achieved with this type of engineering and the main purpose behind building an enclosure in this fashion is to mitigate the wind load placed on the enclosure in the event of a tropical storm or hurricane. Conventionally framed enclosures consist of multiple, smaller screen panels that do not always blow out in a high-velocity wind event, thus placing strain and pressure on the framing itself and shaking the enclosure when introduced to high winds. This shaking of the enclosure, known in our industry as “racking”, is the primary reason that screen enclosures eventually need to be replaced after a period of approximately 20-25 years. The Ultra View concept is designed so that the larger screen panels blow out during a high-speed wind event (tropical storm, hurricane, tornado, etc.), allowing the wind to pass freely throughout the structure with the least amount of resistance possible and ultimately, leaving the most expensive part of the enclosure intact. It is a common misconception that these types of enclosures are inferior to a traditionally framed structure, however, that is simply not true. Alleviating the wind pressure on a screen enclosure is the best possible way to keep the structure free from damage and replacing screening is a much easier and considerably less expensive task than replacing structural components.
For clients that desire the strongest possible framing and/or that want to have the largest possible openings available, we have developed our very own 4” x 10” Ultimate Post & Beam. This patented framing system features internally extruded ribbing, welded corners, and baseplates, and is capable of spanning distances in excess of 100+ feet for screen roof applications. Developed with the assistance and guidance of engineering firms based in South Florida, this exclusive product is only available from Tropical Enclosures by Master Screens, Inc. and provides the “Ultimate” in both strength and scale. Whether you simply do not want to feel like you are in a “bird-cage”, would like to take advantage of the structural integrity of this system, or do not want to diminish your beautiful waterfront or preserve lot views, our Ultimate Beam and highly experienced build crews are here to help you get the job done.
Our screen enclosure builds can be constructed with, but not limited to:
- Solid, structural roofs that can also be tied in to a home's existing roofline and shingled to match
- Screen roofs
- Brick knee walls
- Framework for glass or vinyl windows to be installed anytime at a later date with minimal modifications
- Illumiview Skylight Panels within our composite roof systems (eliminate the possibility of leaks, unlike traditional skylights)
- Sliding screen wall systems
- Motorized roll-up screens
- Expanded View Wall Construction (spans vary based upon roof dimensions)
- Stainless steel fasteners and Tapcons
- Nylo-tec Fasteners and Tapcons
"The job went without a hitch from start to finish. "
Tropical Enclosures re-screened the lanai surrounding our pool and re-bolted it to the pool deck. The price was competitive, and the work was done in a timely manner. The estimator made some suggestions we hadn't thought of, and we added some additional bolting work. They did an especially nice job fixing the two doors on the lanai. The company cleaned up the mess when they were done. We were very satisfied with the project. We would highly recommend the company for sprucing up a pool enclosure in need of re-screening and other repairs.
